Your Bill

How much do I actually have to pay?

When is my tuition bill due? Do I have payment options? We get that there’s a few questions that come along with your tuition bill, so we want to break it all down for you and go over your options.

2024 Sample Bill

What do I actually have to pay?

1.

The top half of your bill has a section marked “Term Charges”, which includes your tuition and fees. The total of these charges probably isn’t what you’re going to be paying, though, because payments you’ve already made and financial aid aren't included.

2.

Look down to the “Payments and Financial Aid” box to see payments you’ve already made (such as your enrollment deposit) and financial aid awards.

3.

You’ll notice that all the financial aid awards are marked with an asterisk. That’s because the financial aid is still pending. Financial aid will still be pending if you need to complete necessary enrollment paperwork such as income verification, promissory notes or entrance counseling. Financial aid will also remain pending until after the term has started.

4.

You can take the total from “Term Charges” and subtract from it the total from “Payments and Financial Aid”. That remaining number is what you owe.

What are my payment options?

Other Billing Information

Your financial aid is estimated based on the information you provided on the FAFSA. It may change if you are required to submit verification documents to Student Financial Services that show different information than what was originally provided. It may also change for other reasons, for example, if you received money from outside sources or your enrollment changes. Contact Student Financial Services if you have any questions about pending aid.

If you have financial aid funds that exceed the charges on your student account at the time of disbursement, you will receive a refund, which may be used to pay other educationally related expenses such as books.

Vouchers are available by request to students who have an excess of financial aid funding after paying tuition and fees. Student must have submitted all of the required documentation. The voucher is valid at Mercy University Bookstore 24 hours from the date of the request (up to 10 days prior to the first day of class).
