Transfer Admissions
Each student who transfers to Mercy brings their unique experiences and backgrounds, every one enriching our campus community.
Transfer Students
Two out of every five students transferred to Mercy.
We have the transfer credit process down to a science, so you can transfer quickly and smoothly and stay on track toward your college degree.
Getting an education at Mercy University means opportunity and growth — not crippling debt. We maintain one of the lowest tuition rates of any private university in New York State.
We make sure every credit transfers
Want to continue your education after taking a break? Looking for a change after starting at a community college or four-year university? We know how important it is to have your credits transfer and apply to your Mercy major.
We’ve created Transfer Credit Max so you can get a free, customized idea at how we can apply your credits and help you to see how quickly you can finish your degree at Mercy. We make sure you know exactly how far your credits will take you.
Once you are accepted, the Transfer Team will carefully review your college transcripts, test scores and other documents for equivalent transfer credits.
How do transfer credits work?
No matter your reason for transferring, Mercy keeps things simple. Mercy University accepts the credits you've already earned at your previous institution and applies them to your bachelor's degree. We will work with you to transfer as many credits as possible into your new program.
We can accept up to 75 credits from a two-year school and 90 credits from a four-year school.
We Welcome Everyone
Deciding to transfer or get back to your education after a pause is something we celebrate at Mercy. That's why we make the transfer process as simple as possible. Think fewer steps in the admissions process. Affordable tuition. And a team of people here to support you so you can start your journey to a world-class education on the right foot.
We accept all types of students into our liberal arts and professional programs.
