Overview

Mercy University provides a comprehensive range of innovative support services to faculty and students, in order to advance academic success among all students.  Academic student services include tutoring, academic skills development, writing support, learning assistance, test prep, library research workshops, disability support, graduate student services, and online learning support.

Center for Academic Excellence and Innovation (CAEI) 

Academic tutoring is available in CAEI Learning Centers on all Mercy campuses.  The CAEI provides a friendly learning environment for receiving assistance in writing, math, science, and an extensive range of other subjects.  Highly trained and courteous staff of faculty, peer tutors, and writing specialists provide the support you need to achieve academic excellence.

Center for Teaching and Learning

The Mercy University Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) engages with faculty colleagues to advance innovative pedagogy and best practices across the curriculum and in the disciplines.  In informal groups under the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning (FCTL) umbrella, faculty and staff convene to share pedagogic and curricular ideas and practices.

Mercy Online - Student Support

Students seeking support for use of the Blackboard learning management system (LMS) may visit the Blackboard Support Portals for answers to many common questions; or search Blackboard Help’s topics and step-by-step instructions.  In addition, the On Demand Learning Center includes short, interactive video lessons (Quick Tutorials) and short documents (Getting Started Guides) that introduce basic features of the program in 15 minutes. 

For additional assistance, students have access to 24/7 technical support through the IT Help Desk, at 914-674-7526.

Mercy Online - Faculty Support

Mercy Online provides faculty with support for the Blackboard learning management system (LMS), the University’s primary platform for online courses and for online management of on-campus and blended courses. Blackboard training is offered through a variety of live and recorded training workshops, tutorial videos and text-based guides, and other learning opportunities suitable to all levels of Blackboard knowledge.
