Using BoodleBox for Teaching & Learning Workshops

Facilitator: Meredith Lancaster, BoodleBox Director of Customer Experience

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), in partnership with Information Technology, is pleased to invite you to an exciting faculty development event!

On Thursday, April 9th, a representative from BoodleBox and our Mercy BoodleBox liaisons will be in the CTL Conference Room (G5, Main Hall, Westchester Campus). They will demonstrate some of the tools included in BoodleBox, the secure AI platform that hosts multiple models and allows for custom AI tool development, to which all Mercy faculty now have access. There will be two sessions during the day, so you can choose to attend at a time that fits your schedule. Each session (morning and afternoon) will offer opportunities for faculty to learn about the platform, pick up some tips and tricks, and experience real, faculty-driven examples from pilot users. Sessions will feature time for exploration, questions, and hands-on guidance, so we strongly encourage you to bring a laptop!

If you don't already have access to BoodleBox, please reach out to helpdesk@mercy.edu for assistance in setting up an account. Session Schedule:

Morning session: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Each three-hour session will contain two 90-minute blocks:

Block 1: Build Your Custom Tutor Bot (1–1.5 hours)
In this build session, you'll create a custom AI bot trained for your specific course. Your bot can guide students, answer course questions, and support learning outside of class on your terms. We'll walk through the process step by step so you leave with a working bot ready to share with your students.

Block 2: Build Your Assignment & Share It with Students (1.5 hours)
Bring it all together by building an AI-integrated assignment directly inside BoodleBox and making it live for your students. We'll cover setup, student access, best practices for classroom implementation, and different types of assignments with AI incorporated. You'll leave with a ready-to-use assignment and the confidence to support your students as they engage with the tool.
