Crafting Meaningful, Student-Focused Course Learning Outcomes

Facilitator: Allison Holt, Office of Educational Assessment

Course learning outcomes allow students to understand what they will learn and be able to do as a result of taking the course. Intentionally creating student-focused course learning outcomes sets the foundation for your course and can guide your assessment approach. In addition to being a best practice, all new course proposals and syllabi are required to have course learning outcomes. Participants will learn about Bloom's Taxonomy and how to craft meaningful and measurable course learning outcomes. The session will be useful for faculty who are planning on submitting course proposals or working on curricular change initiatives, and participants are free to bring any course learning outcomes that they would like to review or revise. It will also be useful for any faculty member who wants to learn more about course learning outcomes and Bloom's Taxonomy.

Hybrid session: Join us in person at the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) Hub, Main Hall, Suite G5, or online via Zoom.

Please check your email or the CTL Faculty Professional Development Resources Blackboard Organization and the Upcoming Events at CTL folder to register.
