Dr. Shari Salzhauer Berkowitz is an associate professor in the communication disorders program.  She has been at Mercy University since 2009.  Dr. B teaches speech/hearing science, voice, research design and endoscopy.  All the hard stuff!  Dr. B loves to teach and to keep it real.

  • National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) (September 30, 2018 – September 30, 2021). Field initiated project (research) K. Kenney-Riley, K. Rapoza & S. Salzhauer Berkowitz, Co-PIs, Discordance, Depression, Cognitive Functioning, Language, Health Related Quality of Life and Adolescents with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.  Awarded $600,000 over 3 years.   

Dr B.'s goal is to develop in students the scientific bases for compassionate, targeted clinical care for all people.
