STEM Scholars Peer Mentors

Each student will be assigned a peer mentor (an upperclassman at Mercy University) who also started at a community college and knows the process of transferring to another college.  Your peer mentor will help you with the transfer process and answer any questions you may have about Mercy and their STEM programs.

Peer mentors give students the support and guidance they need and will always be available to answer any questions students may have.

What can a STEM Peer Mentor do for you?

  • Help you set academic and career goals such as maintaining a certain GPA
  • Direct you to Mercy University services like Financial Aid, Tutoring and Advising
  • Inform you of STEM events and opportunities like internships and workshops
  • Keep you up to date with STEM research on Mercy's campus

Summer Research Academy

Each summer, faculty and students come together at Mercy University to work on authentic research projects in the Summer Research academy. This program is for STEM Scholars at WCC, but is also open to Mercy students who are interested in gaining research experience. Summer research has many benefits for students: gaining hands on experience in STEM fields will aid in success in graduate school and other career pathways.
