On November 3, Mercy College was honored to host Melody Gonzales, Executive Director of the U.S. Department of Education White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics, at its Dobbs Ferry Campus.
While visiting the College, Gonzales met with President Tim Hall, Provost Eva Fernández, and many students, staff, and faculty to learn more about the Mercy programs that have driven Hispanic student success and discuss strategies that will ensure their continued prosperity.
Gonzales also spoke to students in Assistant Professor Victoria Roberts-Drogin’s business class about navigating the career search process, career prospects with the federal government, and the importance of civic and community engagement.
Mercy is grateful for the generosity of Gonzales’ time and her leadership in advancing equity in higher education, which closely aligns with Mercy’s mission.
