MercyManhattan Interim Vice President Recognized by New Rochelle Club of the National Association of Negro Business & Professional Women Club, Inc.
Mercy College congratulates Scorpio Rogers, interim vice president of MercyManhattan, for being presented the “Man of the Year Award” by the New Rochelle Club of the National Association of Negro Business & Professional Women Club, Inc. (NANBPWC, Inc.) at the organization’s 66th annual Founders’ Day Virtual Observance & Awards. NANBPWC, Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to promoting and protecting the interests of African American business and professional women.
Held on Saturday, April 23, NANBPWC, Inc.’s Founders’ Day awards ceremony recognized several community leaders for serving as a bridge for young people seeking to enter a profession in business and making an impact in their local and global communities.
Rogers has a long history of educating and mentoring the next generation of business leaders. Before being appointed interim vice president of MercyManhattan, Rogers held the position of assistant dean of Mercy’s School of Business. He was also an assistant professor of business, as well as the director of entrepreneurship for the School of Business across all College campuses. Rogers was also the executive director of the Mercy Business Incubation Center, and while in this role, was tasked with aiding in the growth of start-up businesses and entrepreneurial endeavors.
“It is truly an honor to receive the ‘Man of the Year Award’ from the New Rochelle Club of the National Association of Negro Business & Professional Women Club, Inc.,” Rogers said. “The recognition provides me with continued motivation to pave pathways for deserving students interested in careers in business and reinforces the importance of helping young people of color achieve success.”
