Mercy College Wins Graphic Design Award for Maverick Magazine and Social Media Toolkit
Mercy College was named a winner in Graphic Design USA’s 2020 American Graphic Design Awards for two recent projects: the fall 2020 edition of Maverick Magazine and the Mercy College Social Media Toolkit. Graphic Design USA (GDUSA) is a respected source for graphic design professionals, and this was its 57th annual graphic design competition.
The competition drew more than 10,000 entries and named approximately 700 projects from over 300 companies and organizations — including Purdue University, Tufts Medical Center and Equifax — as winners. GDUSA publisher Gordon Kaye described the winning pieces and their creators “the best and brightest and most resilient of our community” and said that they reflect “the endless ways in which first-rate graphic design shapes commerce, culture, ideas and causes.”
The fall 2020 issue of Maverick Magazine featured articles on the first graduating class of Mercy Scholars, Mercy’s athletics program and notable alumni, among several other topics. The Mercy College Social Media Toolkit was created to help the Mercy community navigate Mercy’s social media platforms to build awareness for the College and share exciting news, programs and events. The toolkit is designed to help individuals with limited social media knowledge understand common social media terms, as well as how to follow and share Mercy’s posts.
