Mercy College Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month: Elijah Hunter ’23

Mercy College is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 through October 15 in recognition of the achievements and contributions of our Hispanic, Latino/a and Latinx communities.

As the largest private federally designated Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) in New York, Mercy College Hispanic students are woven into the fabric of the College’s culture, with their enrollment making up more than 38% of the student body according to the 2020 Mercy College Census. Mercy takes seriously the responsibility of supporting Hispanic, Latino/a and Latinx students, and is proud to ensure opportunities and resources for all students to fulfill their dreams of a college education.

Elijah Hunter ’23, a member of Mercy College’s step team “Divas Have Mercy,” discusses how students pay tribute to their cultures when performing. To watch a video of Hunter, please click on the above photo.
