Kearnan, Gibbons and Gerdvil Named USA Lacrosse Magazine All-Americans

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (May 16, 2022) – Mercy College men's lacrosse senior Brady Kearnan (Courtice, Ontario/Newberry College) has been named First Team All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine and senior Jack Gibbons (North Bellmore, N.Y./Mepham) and junior Justin Gerdvil (Northport, N.Y./Northport) have been tabbed Second Team All-American.

The trio has led the Mavericks to a 15-1 record and a spot in the National Semifinals for the first time in program history. They helped lead Mercy to their third straight NCAA Tournament berth and their third straight ECC Regular Season and Tournament Championships.

Kearnan is named All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine for the first time after being named ECC Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-ECC. The ECC Co-Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and one-time ECC Offensive Player of the Week leads the Mavericks with 75 points and 39 assists to go along with 29 ground balls. The one-time USILA Division II Team of the Week recipient had a season-high 10 points on four goals and six assists in the win over Georgian Court on February 22nd.

Gibbons takes home All-American honors from USA Lacrosse Magazine for the first time. The senior was named First Team All-ECC after being named to the ECC Honor Roll during the season. Gibbons ranks third on the team with 44 points on 28 goals and 16 assists. He had a season-high six points on a goal and five assists in the Mavericks win over Molloy on March 26th.

Gerdvil also receives All-American accolades from USA Lacrosse Magazine for the first time. The junior was named ECC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-ECC after being named Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. He has helped anchor one of the stingiest defenses in the nation as Mercy ranks fourth nationally in scoring defense. Gerdvil currently has 44 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers on the year.
