Dear Faculty and Staff,
Mercy College is preparing to embark upon the multi-year period of self-assessment and evaluation essential to our continued accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). This process will culminate with the submission of a self-study and an evaluative site visit by a committee of peers in spring 2024.
I have convened a steering committee of faculty and staff from across the College to lead this effort; it will be co-chaired by Peter West, Interim Provost, and Jessica Haber, Chief of Staff. I would like to thank the committee members, who are listed below, for their service to the institution.
This semester, the steering committee will work on a design for the self-study. By the start of the 2022-23 academic year, we will embark on the process of researching and writing the various sections of the self-study. In order to ensure a collaborative and transparent process, the steering committee will be convening several work groups (each focused on a particular standard of accreditation).
We will regularly keep you updated on our progress and will provide multiple opportunities for you to get involved in the self-study and subsequent site visit.
Sincerely,
Tim Hall
President
