Community members are also encouraged to use an assortment of brand-new plate stack loaded resistance training machines for isolated strength training of every body part. Included in the facility are locker rooms with showers and bathroom amenities for all users.
Strength & Conditioning
In addition to its role as the University’s fitness facility, the center is also used for training for all 10 NCAA Division II varsity athletic teams. The spacious weight room is highlighted by Hammer Strength and Rogue combination racks. The room also features the Maverick Logo on Iron Grip Dumbbells and Weight plates. Bumper Plates, Specialty Bars, Resistance Bands and other Safety equipment provides a safe workout environment for student-athletes in training.
All team strength and conditioning workouts are conducted by certified professional strength and conditioning coaches. The mission of the strength and conditioning staff is to design and implement sport-specific, individualized training programs to enhance athletic performance, minimize injury risk and support our student-athletes, coaches and varsity athletics teams in the pursuit of excellence in sports, classroom and community.
The Free Weight Area of the Fitness Center may be reserved during Varsity Team Lifts on occasion. The Strength & Conditioning Team Lift Schedule will be posted at the front desk as well as on the appropriate boards around the facility.
