Tri-Beta Conference
An exciting update from the Regional Tri-Beta conference held at Hofstra University this past Saturday, April 13, 2024. The delegation from Mercy University made a notable impression, with six esteemed research students showcasing their scholarly endeavors through the presentation of five compelling posters.
In a particularly proud moment for our community, Dr. Habig’s dedicated research protege, Jayda Smith, clinched the prestigious second-place honor for her study entitled 'The Impact of Dams on Benthic Macroinvertebrate Diversity in the Bronx River.' Jayda's achievement not only reflects her exceptional dedication and acumen but also underscores the caliber of research excellence fostered within the institution.
True heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the success of this endeavor, with special appreciation reserved for Dr. Habig, whose unwavering support included shuttling students to and from Long Island on a Saturday—an invaluable gesture that exemplifies the spirit of mentorship and camaraderie at Mercy University.
