Welcome to the Registrar's Office at Mercy College. The Registrar's Office is located at the Dobbs Ferry Campus in the South West Annex of Mercy Hall, Room 125/127. In order to contact the Registrar you can email registrar@mercy.edu or call 914-674-3105.

Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 9-5

During peak registration the Registrar's office is open Monday through Thursday 9-7 and Friday 9-5. Please see the Course Bulletin for the dates of our extended hours.

Mission Statement: The mission of the Registrar's Office is to provide the most efficient and effective academic services to students, faculty, staff, administrators and alumni without compromising the colleges' professional and legal standards, and to provide timely and accurate information while maintaining the security and confidentiality of the data.

The Registrar's Office is responsible for all aspects of student registration and academic records. In our role as a provider of quality services to students and the college community, the Registrar's Office philosophy is to respond to inquiries accurately and promptly, to offer helpful assistance, and to treat our students respectfully and with professionalism. We are charged with the responsibility for communicating and administering academic policies, which we endeavor to enforce consistently and fairly. We do this in consultation with academic deans and other administrators.

Registration Information

Course bulletins are available for download through this page.

Additional registration information is available on Mercy Connect on the home tab under personal announcements. Please remember to file your FAFSA immediately, if you have not done so already, and to register for your courses as soon as possible. Students can access available classes through Mercy Connect.

Any student who has questions should contact the academic advising office at any campus. In the case of graduate students they should contact their program director or the graduate dean's office.

Academic Information and Policies
The official source of all information concerning academic policies and regulations is the College catalogue. While the catalogue is updated annually, changes in requirements or policies may occur which are not immediately listed. All students should take note of official bulletins and announcements throughout the academic year. As a student, it is your responsibility to know and follow all College policies.

Registration
Regular registration periods are designated for each term. As a student, you must review and follow all policies in regard to registering, processing financial aid and course attendance. This information can be found in the course bulletin listed in on this page and on Mercy Connect.

Many official communications from Mercy College are sent via e-mail. It is important that you check your Mercy Connect e-mail periodically for course cancellation notifications, updates to your schedule and notifications from your professors and advisors.

Immunization Requirements

All students enrolling for six or more credits must be in full compliance with the New York State Immunization law, and will not be permitted to register for classes without proof of one MMR and submission of a completed meningitis form. The remaining documentation must be submitted within 30 days of the start of the semester. If the documentation is not submitted, the student will not be allowed to continue attending classes and will be dropped from his/her courses without refund (full tuition liability).

Graduation Procedures

All students must submit a graduation application to the Registrar's office in order to be reviewed and processed for degree conferrals. Graduation applications must be submitted according to the following deadlines. Failure to file an application by the appropriate deadline will result in postponement of degree conferral to the next scheduled date for issuing diplomas.

How to File a Graduation Application:

Students may file an application by one of the following ways:

Online
Log on to Mercy Connect with user name and password.
Click on "Student" tab.
Click on "Graduation Applications"
Fill out application and click "Submit" when finished

OR by clicking on the following link Graduation Application

In Person
Go to a Student Financial Services Office at any campus to complete an application.

Students are recommended to meet with their advisor to review their degree requirements and determine their appropriate graduation date.

Commencement Information:
All eligible students will be invited to attend the annual Commencement Exercises held in the month of May. Detailed information will be sent to students as the ceremony approaches. Please be aware that all students must apply for a degree conferral date regardless of decision to attend the May Commencement Ceremony.

Transcript Requests:

Transcripts are official student records of academic activity at Mercy College. Official Transcripts are issued by the Registrar's Office. Upon graduation, students are entitled to one free student copy transcript with their diploma. All questions about transcripts should be addressed to the Registrar's Office.

Please note students who have financial obligations to the college will not be permitted to obtain a transcript until their account is settled.

  • "Official" means the transcript bears the Registrar's signature and raised college seal.
  • Only 5 official copies can be ordered at one time.
  • There is no fee for official transcripts
  • Unofficial Transcripts can be viewed and printed online via Mercy Connect at no charge. There is a $5 fee for any requests for unofficial copies via mail, fax or in person.

*Please allow 5 to 7 business days for processing of all transcripts.

How to Request a Transcript:

Print the transcript request form.

If you do not have the ability to download and print the above form, you may then fax or mail a request which includes the following information:

  • Your Name (or any previous name your record may be under)
  • Your Social Security number and or College Wide ID number
  • Dates of Attendance and or Graduation Date
  • Date of Birth
  • Final Destination for all official copies (we will mail an official copy home to you, but need to know where you will be sending it.)
  • Please indicate if you wish to have your transcript request held for grades or degree posting

In Person Requests:
Transcripts can be requested in person at all Student Financial Service offices at all Mercy College Campuses (Dobbs Ferry, Bronx, Yorktown, White Plains, and Manhattan) If requested at one of the campuses please allow 5 to 7 business days for processing.

* If you need your transcript immediately you can come to the Registrar's Office in Dobbs Ferry. The Registrar's office is located in Mercy Hall on the Second Floor, Room 125/127.

Phone Requests:
Transcripts may not be requested via phone. In order to protect students' privacy we must receive a request in writing with a signature.

* Please note in the near future transcript requests will be available via the web through Mercy Connect. The Registrar's office will update the college community when this option becomes accessible.
