    Student Responsibilities

Mercy College expects students with disabilities to take an active role in communicating their needs, because they can best describe their strengths and weaknesses. It is important that students inform the ODS of their disabilities as soon as possible, preferably before the beginning or within the first two weeks of each semester. This will allow sufficient time to make any necessary arrangements. Reviewing documentation and arranging for appropriate accommodations takes time. After completing the request for Accommodations form, students will get letters to give to their professors which explains their needs. This is also an excellent opportunity for students to connect with their professors and advocate for themselves.
